High-Quality means rigorous testing 

These balancing techniques are built into our manufacturing processes and play an integral part in the durability, longevity, and enhanced quality that Rotron offers today. Validation of product balancing, in the form of dynamic unbalance, is tested 100% on all products as part of AMETEK Rotron’s final inspection procedure. Rotron uses both ISO 1940 and MIL‐B‐23071 as guidance for internal balancing requirements.

Rotron's dynamic balancing practices incorporate a high degree of sophistication, addressing factors including component dimensions, rotational speed, and mass of the propellers and motor components. To attain this degree of precision balance, Rotron uses two plane dynamic balancing equipment to detect and address areas of mass imbalance via material removal or addition, per our time proven methods.  At our facility in Woodstock NY, each fan we produce is balanced by our highly trained and experienced staff and then subjected to a secondary balance test, prior to shipment.

What happens when a unit is unbalanced?

When a rotor, rotorprop, or impeller is unbalanced, there are adverse effects. The dangers of using an unbalanced fan include:
  • Bearing Wear
  • Increased Vibration
  • Excessive Noise
  • Higher Power Consumption
All of these factors can contribute to decreased performance of a cooling system, and premature failure of the unit.
